OUTDOOR EVENTS

This ingenious hand-cart offers protection from the elements and can be moved around an event so we can perform as wandering musicians.

It also allows us to perform with cover from the weather in venues where there is no vehicular access. We can wheel it in through a gateway five feet wide or erect it on-site.

The hand-cart gives a focus to our performance, no matter how modern the surroundings, that allows a greater suspension of disbelief. It is pictured here in a medieval setting but can easily adapted with interior instruments, textiles and artefacts to make it appropriate to any of historical period on offer by the musicians.

For venues where there is vehicular access and no need to be mobile, the wagon offers a fantastic living history venue for the musicians to perform. It can be used on its own as a free-standing stage or, if there is room and turf for pegs, it can be used in conjunction with a protective canvas cover and benches for an audience. Here it is pictured at Lindisfarne Priory, Northumberland in its early 20th century guise but with different bunting, textiles and instruments within, it becomes a suitable stage for performances for a ‘millennium of music’.

The bunting not only serves to set the scene for a given historical period of history, but also serves to highlight the guide ropes in accordance with health and safety considerations.
